I ordered a cover from bakflip.com after entering all my truck info, so I figured it would be a straightforward install. When it finally showed up, I set aside some time to put it on, got everything out of the box, and right away things just didn’t seem to line up. The rails were off, the clamps weren’t landing where they should, and no matter how many times I adjusted it, it still wasn’t right.

I went back and double checked my truck model and bed size thinking maybe I had made a mistake, but everything matched. When I reached out to customer service, they just kept telling me it should fit, which didn’t really help since I was standing there looking at a cover that clearly didn’t. After spending that much money and waiting for it to arrive, the whole thing was really frustrating. I wouldn’t buy from them again.

I tried reaching out about a warranty issue and it was just frustrating. I kept getting passed from one person to another, nobody really gave me a straight answer. Replies were slow too, it felt like they were just hoping I’d give up. I wouldn’t buy from them again.

Overall it works fine, and I do like being able to fold it up when I need more of the bed open. It’s easy to use most of the time, but getting it lined back up after opening can feel a little awkward sometimes. Bed access is definitely good, just not quite as smooth as I thought it’d be for the price. It does the job though, just could be better

Like I said, it got here quicker than I thought. Shipping was really fast, and the box showed up in good shape with no problems at all. Like I said, smooth experience overall.

I got it installed by myself, but it definitely took longer than I expected. I thought it would be quick—actually, let me put it this way, it wasn’t hard exactly, but a couple of the steps in the directions had me second-guessing what I was doing.
Once I got everything lined up, it fit fine and seems solid, so overall I’m not unhappy with it. I did have to redo one clamp, though, and better pictures in the install guide would’ve made the whole thing a lot smoother.

I’ve had my BakFlip cover for under a year, and my quick take is that it just doesn’t feel as solid as it should. I usually figure if something costs this much, the hinges, seals, and panels should hold up without needing much thought. But the hinges are already loose, the seals don’t sit right, and the panels started looking worn way sooner than I expected. Maybe I just got a bad one, but based on this experience, I wouldn’t buy it again.

Really clean design and it fits the look of my truck nicely. My brother even noticed it right away and said it makes the truck look sharper.

Keeps the rain out well overall. Leaks a little when the storms get heavier, but not too bad.
